Its been a TWO YEAR campaign. I think most of us are just plain worn out.

I think we need to thank G W Bush for providing the 'Shop with a completely indefensible set of policies, thereby reducing rancor.

After a day of scraping and painting I'm traipsing off to La-La land on Vics and Manhattans.

I had a little plan........and it executed well.

The Dodge Charger forum flat out Banned all political talk on their off topic discussion after some serious meltdowns during the 2004 race.

After weathering that election on that forum, I was impressed at the level of discourse over here. I'm sure there are some disparaging remakes that could be made, like, Mercedes owners just have better manners. but I'm not going to say that, there are a lot of nice people over on that forum. just that in all honesty this race has been the most hostile i've ever seen, and the discussions I've taken part in on this forum have been very informative, civil, and in end the end Fun.

it gives me hope... a tiny amount of hope, whatever side of the fence this thing falls on, the country won't implode...

My doubt still out ways my hope, so for the mean time i'll be at home clinging to my God and my Guns.

It did require keeping a carefull eye on things and some selective bannings. But all in all this election cycle has gone very smooth on OD. I hope 2012 is like this.

"IF" there is to be such a thing as 2012. I am not so sure this country/world will BE here at that time.

my local VW forum banned all politics around 2005 - I'm going to give up on that place soon....

I would like to thank all those posters that put up thought-provoking, intellectual, well-reasoned posts and arguements (from both sides) it was you guys who refrained from lambasting people (...most of the time...) and made this a forum worth going to.

I was already burned out on politics, so the last few months provided me with little inspiration to post in a political thread, much less read any of the lengthier ones.

I am very happy that election day finally came, and my phone will once again be quiet, and my mailbox not so damned full. How many trees had to die for those idiots, and their oversized postcards from hell?
