I finally brought my uncle over to the Dark Side
My family is slowly coming around to this German Crack I call a hobby, and my young uncle has caught the bug.
Here's what he's purchased, pending a good PPI We've been sifting through Mercedes ads for the last 2 weeks waiting for the right one. He found this one on his own. I talked to the guy and negotiated a PPI before the cash changes hands. We also clarified some feedback issues he had as well. Seems like he got a great deal and is picking it tomorrow. I can't wait to drive it.

Sweet ride man.
IMHO the R129 is the best looking SL ever. Also- Its not the dark side...  Thats BMW. I got one of those. This is more the light side. Comfortable. Refined. Classy.

I sold my X5 a few months ago. They're like a really expensive wife that doesn't age well.
At least the Mercedes ages well.

The dark side is diesel.... not MB SL's. And the 99 SL is certainly NOT the best looking SL by a Texas mile. All the previous SL's are better looking, but that's in the eye of the beholder. Most SL people would agree IMHO.

It's a pretty cool looking car, but WOW ... if that's the garage, I'd like to see the rest of the house!

That's probably one of the few houses where you take the car outside of the garage to do any work on it.

Thats real cheap! My uncle tried to buy a 1992 this spring for $12k cash and they guy wouldn't budge, he wanted $16k. 1999's seemed to be around $20k. Either thats one heck of a deal or the used SL market tanked with everything else.
