B&E Crime Rings?

Anyone ever hear of this happening around them?

In the month of October, my block has had 40 B&E's. It's VERY well organized. Police scanners, cell phones they know what they're doing. They appear to be in their mid 20's. They perform the acts in broad daylight, and move all stolen goods to a few select abandoned homes (a couple of which the city is now bulldozing)

Theres also (laughing) a gang. They were red and black with clown masks. Most popular tactic is standing infront of a car and then robbing the driver at gunpoint. (I'll boost in to one of them - last thing they'll see is intercooler....)

Honestly, what has this world come to? This is in a nice middle-class area. I plan on attending more neighborhood watch meetings and get a CCW and a 10mmm auto glock.

it sickens me.

Perhaps it has something to do with all the unemployed middle class workers who can't find a job paying a living wage anymore. Our economy is so piss poor I don't doubt that we'll see alot more crime in the future.

More cut and run thieves here that are just stealing stuff from cars in dark neighborhoods, mostly on colder or rainy nights...crime 101.

No home invasions or blatant robberies at gun point yet, but my area consists of alot of hard working blue collar good ol boys and a good mix of hard working hispanic families as well.

There are some gang related crimes, but more wanna be type stuff, nothing really violent, although I would venture to say More than 80% of the households have well armed occupants and alot of concealed carry holders.

Every guy I have met on my street so far is armed well, and our neighborhood watch is tight to the point where everyone is on speed dial and neighbors scramble to action if anything suspicious goes on in the neighborhood.

It took a couple years to get it established like this but with each meeting we pretty much got everyone on the same page, but you stil have some that do not want to be bothered and come out of their cocoon until something big happens.

Our crime watch officers call our neighborhood "The militia" and we are proud of it too, and so are they.

In the town I work in a PD officer told me they respond to about 20 B&E's a day where the perps ring the door bell, and when they don't get an answer (people are at work) they just kick in the front door and go through the house.

I couldn't believe 20 a day in this hum drum little town. It sure hasn't been reported in the local news paper.

From what I have heard of Detroit its like Somalia, so this doesn't surprise me.

Do they carry AK47's and run around in junk Toyota's yet?

What a bunch of crap! Some one gets laid off so they join a gang and rob people ay gunpoint? Sounds to me like it's a Detroit thing I heard it's always been a ****hole and most likely always will.

I'm in a suburb of Detroit.

Far north of 8 mile. (although topifer is the new 8 mile, just a little north)

The low income housing is the problem. Combine that with poor education, no jobs and all the empty houses (due to foreclosures) and this is what happens.

I've NEVER heard of a gang in these parts. this is macomb township - all we have is mall thugs and ricers. The fact that they grouped up, and planned everything out gets me. With all the effort they could have easily found jobs.

Detroit is a nice place. You get stupid, you'll endup dead - thats all. Downtown is beautiful; the immediate outskirts however are not nice.

I was driving through the ghetto area of town a few years ago when I had like 4-5 unpleasant looking teens fan out across the road trying to stop me. I downshifted and spooled it up, they LEAPT out of the way when they heard my engine rpms jump. I wasn't about to get shot or mugged!

Thats usualy a good policy in bad areas. We pick up bricks from a yard in a horrible section of Bridgeport. At stop lights you keep some distance between yourself and the car in front of you, if someone walks up to your car just floor it.

Anyone who tries to stop you like that is up to no good, put your foot to the floor they will move or die.

This kind of stuff has been happening in my rural county for a few years, the cops take one group down and another pops up. There was a breakin near my own house where the neighbor watched the people back the van in and empty the house, she thought they were "movers". ****** idiots allow these POS's to prosper. I think home invasion should be a 20 year felony.

Invade the wrong house, at the wrong time, and it can be a death sentance.
