This is going to get frequent now

http://www.zimbio.com/Education/articles/1666/Sid+Agarwal+Silicon+Valley+Tech+company+CEO

Late Friday afternoon, 47-year old Jing Hua Wu, the recently fired lead product testing engineer of Siport (a semiconductor chip company), walked into the offices of his former employers, and shot to death the top management of the company. Among the victims was 56-year old Sid Agarwal, the CEO of Siport, an ex-IITian (IIT-Kanpur, 1974, electrical engineering).

Sid was a well-known executive in the Silicon Valley, and a respected member of the Indo-American community. Prior to SiPort, Sid held executive management positions at Alliance Semiconductor, Layer Five Networks (acquired by Juniper) and Synaptics. Earlier, Sid held leadership marketing, sales and engineering positions at Adobe, Intel and Bell Labs. Sid received a B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur, India, an M.S. degree from Southern Illinois University and an M.B.A. degree from the University of Chicago.

Now CEOs in US would have to carry guns or get armed escort, this is totally ridiculous.

If that's really what will manifest in the near future, Ford and GM had better get a militia!

Doesn't look good, thats for sure, but there is hope, Iraq vets would get better job prospects and will be put to good use.

There wasn't any mention of why they fired him.

We'd be in a scary place if that happened every time someone was fired.

Probably work related, this guy was in charge of engineering and therefore they probably weren't satisfied with his work.

Something similar happened very close to home some years ago

I presumed it was work related but from the severity of the reaction and the short period of time that had elapsed before he returned the next day there must have been a lengthy backstory. Either way....scary :(

Just goes to show that you need to be careful of those you work with.

Goes to show you why carrying a gun sometimes isn't a bad idea. Never know what nut is lurking around getting pissed at you.

Sometimes? If I'm not going to a bar (which is illegal), I always have my gun.

I read a long time ago about a psychologist that asked serial killers the following question:

A woman goes to her mothers funeral, meets a man she has never seen before, falls in love with him right then and their. The next week, she kills her brother, why?

The diagnosed 'insane' killers answered the question correctly right away.

I don't get that question, at all. So I guess that means I'm not crazy! WOOO! :D

For a while as a final year student in college I volunteered to to teach at NYC public school system during a massive strike called by the teacher's union. Needless to say I survived by showing all the students what I carried, my custom butt Glock 10mm, its what kept me alive in that jungle, all the students knew I was packing and wouldn't hesitate to shoot. Luckily I never got the misfortune to having use it.
