The latest victim of a poor economy

Me.

I was laid off yesterday. I guess I'll be a stay at home Dad for awhile.

I was laid off from a different job at this same time last year too.

Ouch, I hope your able to find another good job soon.

I'm taking a bath on a RE deal I signed before the market crashed, and closed right as it was crashing. Catching a falling knife can hurt!

I feel for you.. My better(?) half got canned 2 weeks ago. After 18 months and keeping the return section in top shape: "There isn't enough work to keep you busy" was the reasoning. 5 interviews in the last week and still nothing.
4th quarter is always the big lay-off/cut back time of year....

Well: With a positive attitude. Giving thanks for what you do/still have. Take inventory of what’s really important in your life. Hold on tight to it. Life does go on. It quite often gets better as well.

Sorry Bryan. Hopefully your budget can handle the stay at home dad thing. Things are much tighter around here since I became one. It's nice to spend time with the kids and you can save quite a bit of cash having one person stay at home (especially the one that can fix things around the house and cars).

Here's hoping things work out the way you want them to.

True, at least now he can spend more time with the kids and maybe work on the projects around the house/garage.

Before the market crashed? Did you start this deal two years ago or something?

Often leading to looking back years from now and giving thanks for what currently is a seemingly dreadful even.
Give it time - For time will tell.

I hope you're in good shape. When I did a stint of "stay home dad" it was some of the hardest work, both physically and mentally, I've faced. I went through the "let's clean this place up" phase . . . then the "let's fix/improve the home" phase . . . and the "we have to maintain cleanliness and order" phase . . . but by far, the adjustment to a home routine and the sheer monotomy of it (same grocery store, same aisles, same products) and detachment from other adult conversation was the hardest.

Sorry to hear about this, Bryan.

This recession is hurting a lot of folks.

The phone hasn't rung in a couple of weeks here for the business.........things are bleak.
