A visit to the Mercedes Benz Classic Center (Irvine, Orange Co., Ca.) Many pic's

Went to the Mercedes Benz Classic Center, in Irvine California, yesterday.

Who could miss that, if you drove to So Cal? Bought the 2 Euro valance pieces I need for my Euro headkight wipers/motors setup that are on the way from Germany ebay.

Then, after a wonderful tour of the Center, called up a girl in San Diego for a date. But I got the wrong number it was a different one that I knew who answered. Unbelievaby she was 4 minutes away in Irvine, though she lives down in Riverside county, and was free. Spent the whole day with her, noon to midnight, went to Laguna Beach, the Irvine Spectrum Center and more.

What a wonderful time I am having here down in Orange County, below Los Angeles, where I haven't done anything at all. Beatiful mint old Mercedes everywhere, plying the roads and freeways here, many with original plates on them.

That racing 300SL was in Kansas last May, with their display at McPherson College. Gorgeous.

Exclamation More pictures!!!

1912 model.

Staggeringly perfect old 6.3, a totally mint car.

They are timeless beauties.

Outside the Classic Center

I love the 6.9 almost as much as diametrical benz does. This one was restored by the Classic Center to better than new, and sits for sale on the floor. It's a 1978. Price? Well, if you have to ask, then........

290 Cabrio interior.

Could not resist this little goodie from the boutique store. It's 1/43" scale, from Paul's Model Art, only $28 with the MBCA club discount. These are very hard to find in the United States, and the detail is amazingly accurate. They have the 560SEL also if you want one

Hanging out at Laguna Beach later on

The Classic Center restored the cars seen in the Center. They really do look brand new. So far as I am aware, all the cars on the showroom, and some of them on the tiers and the floor on the back are for sale too. The price would likely give you a nosebleed though.

Well, the girl I went out with, after being at the Classic center, was camera shy so I have no pictures of her, I have to respect her not wanting me to take any.

But we had a good time. We went to Laguna Beach, where I had never been before, and hung out all day long. It was a lot of fun; Like Carmel, Venice Beach, Malibu, and Santa Monica, where I HAD been before, but yet different and unique.

We watched the sun set over the Pacific ocean
together on the back balcony of a restaurant that overlooks the sea. I sucked down a strawberry Margarita. It was wonderful. Then we went to the Irvine Spectrum Center and walked around, and finally had dinner at PF Chang's. It was one of the nicest dates I have ever had.

I left the SEC in a parking lot, and went with her in a huge lifted Dodge Ram Cummins turbo diesel truck that she has, it's like Diametricalbenz's white one he bought this year. That thing is REAL high!!! She drove me everywhere around in it, because she knows Orange County real well, and I don't.

Here are some pic's of Laguna Beach, California not too long before sundown that I took when we strolled around.

Skateboards are viable transportation here, as you can see!!!

In Laguna Beach here is how you donate to homeless. There was a cool dog water fountain next to it, right on the ground for dogs.

Suprising to see a 911 in front of an British phone booth in downtown Laguna Beach, though.

More pictures, from Laguna Beach, last evening...

Shurely shome mishtake???!!!

iwrock's wagon smells better than this one, probably....

We talked to some Japanese people! The girl on her left is from Japan, visiting local relatives from near Laguna Beach. They got the dog carrier when they were in Japan. Pretty clever way to carry a pup. They were really nice people.

Sunset from the restaurant balcony, overlooking the beach. Nice....

Jim,

Thats kind of wild I made the same trip in early October. After going through the Classic Center. I had lunch on the roof of the Casa Del Camino in Lauguna Beach which my grandmother used to own. I'll take the Strawberry roadster thank you.
