Better you shoot them than me clobbering one with my car. I'm not much of a fan of hunting, but thankful you guys keep the population under control.
I hit a deer with the SL once. I hit the deer hard enough to knock her over, but not enough to do any damage to my sainted car.

My dads friend makes a killer venison chili. Its amazing, best I ever had. Tasty critters for sure!

I didn't have the boy with me on this hunt. I take first day way too seriously. I was in a portable stand and the temps for Monday and Tuesday was no higher than 30 degrees. I had him with me for early muzzleloader. He is only 5 so he still bounces around alot.
I shot the deer with a Ruger M77 All-Weather Stainless in a .270 caliber. I have a Leupold 3.5x10 mounted on it. http://www.ruger-firearms.com/Firearms/FAProdView?model=17870&return=Y Mine looks a bit different as it is a couple of years old. The butt stock on mine is inset and has the Ruger name and logo. I see from link that they discontinued that model.
