Isn't The Times Getting a Bit Ahead of Itself?

Don't get me wrong, I love the NY Times. I've been reading it daily since 1974.

But I've gotten real tired of the editorial bias, which has become much more pronounced in the last few years....

So today,
Kirk to Bring Evenhandedness to US Trade Post

DALLAS (AP) -- Former Dallas Mayor Ron Kirk said Friday that as U.S. trade representative he will seek to promote trade as a way to create American jobs as well as encourage development abroad.

It will be a delicate balancing act for the 54-year-old Texan, who is known for his political moderation and evenhandedness.

http://www.nytimes.com/aponline/2008/12/20/washington/AP-Obama-Trade.html

Yes, he may bring evenhandedness.

Or he may not. We don't know yet.

So we are saying the current US Trade Representative is NOT evenhanded?

Is the Trade Representative supposed to be evenhanded, or promote US interests?

Is encouraging development abroad in the job description?

The reporting in the Times is so much better than the headline writers, who seem to take their marching orders from management.

The NY Times is so bad I don't even pay attention to it anymore. The trouble is the editorials masqerade as news articles. Most of the papers in the US use these 'articles' in their papers and so it goes.
