Good deal for the money, if unrusted and unwrecked.

I might go look at this one. I love this body style, my dad bought his 1994 just about new. Sadly I missed out on that one. These Ford's are actualy built pretty well, the doors sound like a G class when you shut them. Not this modern truck plastic BS.

That one could be worth a look, Chris. Basic tough work truck, and this one's a 4x4 also, for a decent price with reasonabe low miles by one owner.

Probably you could beat on it like the family mule for years, and it would still go.

They are pretty tough. I saw that style of truck with the basic argent trim in either the F250 or F350 style that was a garbage truck in Arequipa Peru!!!
(middle of nowhere!!!)

Maybe you should check it out.

You need something much older than that, and 4x4 for a work truck, an old 70s f-250 highboy will fit the spot, mate that with a 390 and a 4-speed and you got the perfect combo. Sadly, you probably don't have many of those surviving on the East Coast.

My Area is full of these relics, and with the gas prices being the way they were, many were cheap.

Another good work truck would be a mid 80s C or K 3500 GMC or Chevy 4x4 with a 454. You could do some serious hauling with one. My dad has one sitting in the driveway, and I can borrow it time to time. That thing has some balls, and it can pull anything it wants too. The only draw back is it gets about 9mpg in the city, and about 6mpg when towing...

That's a GREAT truck there! It has all the right stuff: Long bed for hauling 8' boads, a box to put your stuff, manual tranny and the stone reliable inline 6 cyl.

When I had a regular cab truck, I put the bed box on it to keep my things I normally kept in the cab - jackets, umbrellas, etc... I put carpeting in it to keep the stuff clean.

The bad part about them is that your body tends to be the crumple zone in an accident....

That what I was thinking. I'll use it for a lot of around town trips so mileage is important. My dad had a 1994 forever and got about 14ish with an auto. With the manual if I could do 15-16 that would be pretty good. What I don't want is something like my uncles super charged SS or my friends 2500HD Silverado which get about 9-11.

That tool box would kind of be in the way, but not to bad. It sure would be usefull.

I may go offer them $3k and see if they bite. Things are slow so they have to come down on these truck prices. I can't really afford a new truck.

You might want to check out this crash test. I believe it's a late 90's F150. POS is an understatement.

I have a 2000 Ford F-150 and right now I have to take it to the dealer for a recall on the cruise control switch. and also have a problem with the truck recognizing the electronic key.

Yup, those things are known for spontaneously catching fire and burning people's houses down. No joke.

If you looked at the ad you can clearly see that is a totaly different truck. Other than being called an F150 they share nothing else.

My grandfather had a 1985 which is the same truck as the 1995 and AFAIK its still on the road coming up on 400k miles. Rusty and ugly as hell but still chugging along.

My dad had a 1995 since almost new and it was a damn good truck.

I don't like that body style, I'd either get a 1995 or older, or a 2005+. The one your talking about in the video was a POS, I wouldn't buy that body style.

Another thing is that the red one is 4x4. I would never have another truck that wasn't 4x4! Now, this is a point of heated arguement among a lot of guys and of course, there's a bunch that will say that they've never had a problem.

I'm just speaking from my own personal experience.

gotta love the old Ford trucks.

What do you think of that bumper I'm standing on in a crash test

I think they'd be repairing the test facility.
