Bought me a near-Mercedes

Although I was never a fan of the Daimler-Chrysler marriage, I just bought a 2005 300C AWD with 39K miles. The near-Mercedes part is the suspension pieces, 5-speed transmission, and 4Matic. Planting the pedal is actually kinda scary. Well, until I get used to it. Should be fun.

Can you smoke all four wheels at once when you burn it out?

Definitely HEMI (I think all 300Cs are) and multiple displacement. And yes its a little like driving a tank, but corners on rails compared to the 380SE.

I really like the look of the 300C's and the Hemi has fun power. It's too bad they didn't put a 300-like nose on the now discontinued Magnum. Although if I can find a black Hemi Magnum for the right price I might jump on it.

I like the Magnum, too. I like how Chrysler was really bold in it's new look. Distinctive and challenging.

Unfortunately, middle class buyers want to look like all of the other wildebeests in the herd. Eeee-haaw.

They are hot, all right, and pretty fast too, and yet, I have noticed out here that most drivers of them, seem to lose their nerve when you keep accellerating an AMG past 120-130 mph, though, as if they can't keep up anymore or are afraid to.

Not that *I* would ever do something like that. wink, wink... Heeeeeeeeeeeeee

They did, but sold them only in Europe. I've driven the Magnum Hemi and liked it, but the low roofline combined with the steep rear window angle hamper its utility as a wagon. Also, blind spots are fairly large.

Hmmm...I wonder if someone offers an aftermarket nose for one?

I agree it's not the most wagonny (? ) of the wagons, but they're still a decent mix of utility and performance. If I could get away with a sedan I'd go for a 300C. With kids, carseats, backpacks, dogs etc. the Magnum makes a little more sense for me even if it's not a perfect wagon. At least that's how I'm trying to justify it to myself.
