Good noise cancellation headphones

I'm looking for some good noise cancellation headphones for less than $150. Any recommendations?

The new Sony noise cancelling over the ear headphones have gotten better reviews than the Bose QC

Unlike the Bose, the Sonys start at $99

I have a set of 1-year-old Bose noise canceling headphones. I would describe the audio quality as muddy and the left earphone has developed a substantial hum. I think I will look into those Sony headphones before mowing season.

Sennheiser HD-280Pro's

all you need. A good isolating closed-back headphone. None of that noise-canceling crap.

I was thinking of getting the Bose QC-3s, but didn't want to spend that much money on them. I have found many for sale on E Bay, but I'm wary of buying something like this sight (or sound) unseen . . .

Koss QZ77

In one of my recent Consumer Reports they reviewed several models, from cheap to expensive. Surprisingly, the Koss QZ77 (in-ear) was one of the best performers and inexpensive. I'm searching for a pair of these for an upcoming trip.

Bought them for my Kid for Christmas. She loves them. But them teenagers have parent-cancellation built-in.

I discovered a pair of AKGs lying around in my basement yesterday. I didn't think they worked, but I plugged them in and they work great. I don't remember which model they are. I've had them a long time. They're rather big and bulky, but they sound terrific. So, I guess my search is over for now.
