And yet, you can't put a 10oz ballpeen hammer through the skin of a Cessna 150.

Yeah but if it were moving at 330 mph look out!

Upon looking at it again, it would appear as if someone backed a Cadillac Escalade into a Chrysler 300C, and then dropped it onto a pickup truck. Then it got backed into a STS for good measure.

The front end, door handles, and side mirrors are definately from the Escalade pile. The tail lamps aren't from any production Cadillac that I can recognize. I put a pic of a 2009 DTS and STS next to it, their tail lamps don't even match it. It's possibly a one off design especially for the Presidential limo. I think this is the first Presidential Limo that isn't configured to resemble any particular production model from the exterior, as the old limos were built to resemble regular ole' Fleetwoods, Town Cars, and DTSs. This one just looks like leftover Caddy parts were slapped together.

This begs the question: "Why were you trying?"

There's no way that the car could reach any considerable acceleration with the 6.5L. If it's a Hummer drivetrain it would take 20+ seconds at +-6000lbs. A 10,000 lb vehicle barring Cd values is in the 30 second range which would be useless as an escape vehicle.

Of course we're all assuming that because a (apparently) British publication says it's a 6.5 that it is. If it's a new modified 2500 from the frame down it's more likely a 6.6 Duramax. We may never know for sure until it's retired and in a museum somewhere.

What determines the maker of the Presidential Limos? Low bidder? Secret Service? Was there another reason for the switch from an F250-based Lincoln? I know they keep them in service for a pretty long time after the Prez is done with them for Secret Service and heads of state use.

Inquiring, and uneducated, minds want to know. :)

Many years ago, I got a great deal on three C-152s so I bought them. I leased them to a group of local flight instructors who in turn used them for primary training. One of the instructors was a gal that weighed in at around 165 pounds. Her student weighed around 235.

One calm hot summer day they decided to take off with full fuel. Ran into some control problems and subsequently totaled the aircraft.
They both managed to walk away from it.

So, I got/bought the thing back from AIG and sold off all the parts I could, then proceeded to scrap the rest. Pretty much an empty hull of the fuselage was all that was left.

Then one evening I decided to use the fuselage (twisted, with cracked gear castings) as a place to let off some steam. And, as a focal point to answer one of life’s ever present questions: “What happens if I hit this really hard with a hammer?”

Observation.
Question.
Hypothesis.
Experimentation.
Data Collection.
Conclusion.

Slam as you may, a hammer will not penetrate it.

A hatchet on the other hand...:D

Great story!!!

Ahhh, the inadequacies of the C-152. When I was doing primary, we NEVER flew the 152 with a full tank...even at 1/2 tank, the instructor and I technically overgrossed the airplane. We weren't little people...even back then.

You never know what will be flying around out there. I have seen some carpenters with a great arm!
