A diesel presidential limo? WOW! Top speed 60mph? That can't be right. Those motorcades have to FLY if something happens.

PETROL tank, diesel engine? 60MPH does seem slow. 160 seems more reasonable.

That thing has sooooo much armour on it that 60 mph has to be downhill with a tail wind. Much like the 240d.

and the driver's window can go down so that he can "pay a toll"?
Somehow I don't think anyone in that motorcade is going to be paying any tolls.

8 inches of steel in the doors? I don't know what the density of steel is. How much does a dang door weigh?

A lot of false info in that article. For starters no way it cost only $300k pounds, add a zero to that.

The armour is also way to thick to be pratical, 5in plate on the bottom? That car would weigh as much as a tank.

It probably does weigh as much as a tank, but after reading a few sites, I gotta think a lot of that information is wrong - especially the use of the 6.5 engine. On one site, I read:

"While GM's trying to make it look like a Cadillac DTS, it's based on the company's line of heavy-duty 2500 trucks. For a fast getaway, it must have a giant engine under the hood. Because the presidential motorcade typically uses up to six decoy vehicles, there must be a mini-fleet of these behemoths on their way to the White House before too long."

From http://blog.wired.com/gadgets/2009/01/obamas-presiden.html (the video is fairly cool), check out the door on the thing:
