Have purchased a 500sel. According to ownership it is a 1982. Tried to run vin on russian site and regular north american sites to no avail. Number on windshield plate is wdb12603712019145. Russian site says approx year 1992. Local dealer no help. 500 series not available in n.a. Until '84. Dealer says eng may not be the same as mine. Other parts may or may not fit. Any help?

Its a euro model. Its mostly the same as US models with most of the same parts. Dealers can look up parts for it if they know to select "europe" instead of "north america" when picking the model in EPC.

I'll bet it is a euro 1991 w126 500SEL; why not look on the plates of manufacture in the door jambs and tell us what it says?

That site for some reason does that. iirc for one of mine it also said 1992. I believe the title would be right in this case.
