Attn: SAE Mechanics (mopar) (help)
My Car (the other one) is a 1990 Dodge spirit, with the 3.0l engine.
My front crank seal is leaking, what is involved in re-sealing it? can I leave the crankshaft in the engine? I have no problem doing the work, I just want to know what's involved, and whether it''s going to involve a timing cover or anthing where I may need and engine tilter or removal.

Buy a Chilton or a Haynes manual. Either will lay it out step by step.

Just the same as when you do a timing belt / water pump job. Once these are removed the crankshaft timing belt pulley needs to come off then pull the seal and replace with a new one not that bad just time consuming( about 5 hours book time ). Definitely get a haynes or chiltons manual as this will help with the timing belt line up.

I owned a 90 LeBaron 3.0L with the same mitsubishi engine. ptv190 is correct. The labor to replace the front crank seal overlaps with a timing belt/water pump change. Once the timing belt is removed, the crank seal isn't that difficult to replace.
