I hope that bridge is in good shape. It's been getting pretty crowded lately.

88 years is a good long time to live in this world, especially when most of them have been good ones. Really good.

Chad300tdt 01-14-2009 04:57 PM

RIP Ricardo.

He was great in Mission Impossible (the TV series).

I always loved Fantasy Island. RM was the perfect Mr. Roark. The Clockwork Orange guy was pretty good in the second incarnation but I could never shake the image of Montalban whenever I watched the show.

RIP

I just finished watching ST-II. Sunday night...just freaky...My thought during the show was "Man, he's about due...he's been around a LONG TIME."

Chit! :(

LaughingGravy 01-14-2009 06:19 PM

And just last night I was watching some PBS special on MGM hosted by Patrick Stewart and they ran an old interview from what looked like the 80s of Mr. Montalban.
I thought to myself.."Hey, we haven't heard or seen RM in a while..."

He's one of those great classic film actors that most kids today don't even know the name, let alone the legendary reputation, even if all the films weren't good.

Loved him in Trek and Fantasy Island, where he likely received the most exposure.

If I were a dead pool kind of guy, I'd put Leonard Nimoy next in the Trek dead pool.

He's dead, Jim

RIP to the best villain in the best Star Trek movie ever period.

He was a huge star in Mexico back in the 1940's and made romantic comedies with Esther Williams of all people (lucky guy)

He was the only actor who could have pulled off Mr. Roarke.

He is now hanging out with Tattoo, Scotty, and Bones.

I just saw him in "Mystery Street" a Noir film from 1950 where he played the lead as Detective Morales. Good film.

I like that style of Cordoba. I don't care for any of the other front end styles I've seen. If I had more than enough space to have all the MB's I want, I'd consider one of those.

I also wouldn't mind a K-car wagon like the one I used to have. It was the cheap cousin of the 300TD.:D
