Help me pick a personalized plate!

I've always wanted a "Banzai" themed plate and these are available. This will be for the E300.

I was thinking of something using "BAHN" like autobahn. No commentary on the rational of personalized plates please...

How many characters are you allowed?

We're only allowed 7 in PA.

How about BENZAI?

Does your DMV have a website to verify availability or do you have to submit 3 choices and hope for the best like you do in PA?

That's good too, I hadn't thought of it. We can see instantly if it's available at this site:

https://edmv-sp.dot.state.nc.us/sp/PersonalizePlate

We can have 8 characters.

Think twice before you do this. In my experience, whenever your license plate says something, it usually ends up contradicting what your car says.

No offense intended.

You mean, like seeing this guy in your rear view mirror?

You lucky dogs! 8 characters AND punctuation? We only get 6 (5 if they're "Early American" (antique) plates). All numbers and letters must be separated by a dot and you get one dot on a plate. Maybe our police can't process that many digits?

I'm every bit the "SEEDY*1" my plate says.

Yeah, we can get pretty creative here... I think we also have more specialized plates than any other state. There are over 100 different college, pro sports teams, military, NASCAR and non-profit organizations represented.
