Well I knew Jack, "560truck" over on benzworld, as the guy from who I bought my AMG headers and downpipes, and he is thoroughly reputable, so I decided WTH..... I would extend my stay one more day and go look at the 1990 560SEL he was selling.


I stayed in a hotel that my buddy mc clare recommended in Lancaster, and we both set out together with the idea that if we liked the car either he or I would buy. We didnt expect much. It was about a 120 mile trip, I had never seen the area before, Riverside, Perris, Hemet and San Bernadino. It was VERY scenic.


It was a good car though. Jack had bought it with the idea to make an AMG car out of it, and incredibly had an AMG complete body kit he had sourced and prepped to be painted.

It had been repainted ....but NOT a correct MB pearl black, but was VERY presentable. California car from new even with original 1990 plates on it, no rust, never hit, straight and clean inside and out. Desirable black with black leather.


Jack sold it to me for 1200. But Mike needed it more than me, so it went directly to him ---though I drove it halfway to Lancaster and it drove out really well though I did NOT run her over 80 mph.

It had the interior and trunk loaded to the hilt with Mercedes and Old AMG parts, the other black lace wheels not on the car now, and tons of good stuff in it.

Here's the kicker. For the money we didn't get just the car, which was very good, with a clean title up to date reg, just 156k AND EURO LIGHTS AND WIPERS he put on, but the car was turn key, detailed for us and ready to go.

Jack is going to totally focus on BMW and he wanted ALL his Mercedes Benz stuff gone ---just get it out of here NOW so he can have room for the BMW things!!! So of course, we took it. He was unbelievably generous. We took *ALL* of it, including a 560SEL load worth of Mercedes Benz AND *old AMG parts*!!!! mc clare has most all of them, and after he sorts them all out, and takes what he needs, he will make them most likely available to all of us that need them. A few were specially set aside for teutone.


There are so many a truck will have to be brought down to take them all away this weekend, and THAT is covered, believe me.

PLEASE NOTE: Please don't swarm me or mc clare with AMG or W126 parts requests just yet. It will be inventoried and photographed and made available, first here, for very reasonable prices. there is a LOT to sort out here.

We were so lucky to get this cache and this excellent car, just at the right time and place .... SO glad I stayed the extra day in Mc Clares home town and accomplished this. Thanks mc clare AND 560truck.

About to hit the road in the new car!!! Turned out to be a good runner!! Ice cold air too!!! I had never driven a car with heavy tint. What a revelation.

Jack will hook me up with his tint guy when I get back down there. (You guys think my coupe would look good with tint like this? Just 240 and he will put me up over night, a great guy!!)

Good job, besides the rims that car looks perfect; right? What color is it, dark gray? And yes you should tint the SEC, every SEC should be tinted!

I decided to pass it on to my pal Mike Mc Clare over in benzworld, who wanted a matching '90 - '91 sedan and coupe, I am by myself and feel I am all set with the coupe and the new outback, and have no wife to put into it.

It ran real good, though. It's basically a complete unassembled AMG sedan, the complete primed AMG body kit, steering wheel and other old AMG bits were given for free. The AMG shocks are already on it.

Total steal for 1200 for it. The euro lights and euro headlight wipers are worth a grand right there. The paint isn't Mercedes Benz 199 Pearl Black but is fairly close.

With the value of the parts thrown in, it was like the car was basically free.

He had paid 2500 for it last April and put a ton of improvements and repairs in but only drove 500 miles in it.

One of those "lost interest" things.. I was just at the right place at the right time with cash in my pocket.

Plus he knew me from before, I got my AMG headers and downpipes from him. He wants out of Mercedes Benz so he can focus on BMW, and needed the storage for his BMW things. Said take it all away so we did.
