There were very few complaints when billions disappeared in Iraq with no accounting or record of where it went, what's a few trillion more? They are afterall, leaving town, it's time to grab what little meat there is left on the bone.

The government doesn't care, after all its not their money.
I'm tired of this bailout BS, I want to see some big sloppy companies fail. Capitalism demands destruction in order to create.

Just because the Bush administration seems to be screwing this up does not say anything about government in general. On the other hand, I feel as if we are being used, big time.

Congrass keeps passing this crap, and tacking on BS earmarks for their little pet projects, the Bush isn't a one man show.
People only give a damn when they are personaly invested.

Only if they live long enough. Either way, it is still a ponzi scheme. Again, a soldier spends his time in the military, risks his life, doesn't have a 9-5 40 hr/wk job, doesn't get paid that much in salary but has the benefit of a pension IF they can serve for a certain number of years and what not. How is that different from you working hard at a job and socking away the money and living off it later?

Perhaps so but is it wise for the govt to involve itself in how business allows it's execs to profit when they too can be under scrutiny for profiting when times are bad? and fail.

How so? Isn't that why we have the triad of powers? So no one group can run the whole show?

Why not? They sit around all day and drink Strawberry Daiquiris and shoot hoops in the evenings when it isn't too hot.

I think most people are agreed that the government, regardless of party politics, is squandering money.
Is there any reason to believe that, regardless of party politics, the government wont do the same on any other new program it starts? |
