Dog Barking Solutions?
Anyone know of ways to make your dogs stop barking at any moving object they see? There is a new law in California (of course ) that states: if your dog barks too much, you get fined. Not a bad law for people dogs that don't stop barking... Unfortunately, those are my dogs.....
I tell them no when they start barking and they stop, and as soon as I go back in the house they go crazy again. It's getting to the point where I just want to tie them up, although I never would. Any suggestions? Also, they're marking everything in the house which SUCKS and smells.... Does anyone know how to make them stop doing this? The dogs I have are: Dexter (full bread German Shepard) 1 year old Ein (full bread Pembroke Welsh Corgi) 1 year old Max (Maltese Mix) 1 year old

Judging by the look of the GSD, the dogs own the house not you... You have to take control back and part of that is keeping them off the furniture unless you are there and you invite them up with you.
Also, get them into a routine where go out specifically to pee and when they do, give them a treat. Finally, if they are not fixed, do so and it will reduce the marking behavior. There's also electronic collars that deliver a correction in response to barking. These are pretty effective but kind of pricy for three units.

Shock collars. One unit might suffice. You could train each one separately. In fact, it might be an interesting experiment to see if the non-collared dogs learn anything from the collared dog which will quit barking.

Spend a day watching Animal Planet’s “It’s Me or the Dog”. You’ll figure it all out pretty quick.
Victoria Stilwell knows her stuff when it comes to these issues.

Get them fixed...less of a chance to "mark territory", unless there is a smell from a female dog.

No need for anything fancy. Anything they mark you rub their nose in followed by a few smacks with an open palm. Then you walk away and ignore them for 5 minutes. After the time has passed you can pet and reassure them that you're no longer angry. After the age of 5 months there is no excuse for dogs having accidents in the house. It's no longer their fault, rather the owner's.

As my Grandpa used to say: "The best way to stop dogs and women from yapping is to slap the meat to their mouth".

Thanks for all the resposnes, we spank them and rub their nose in it but that doesn't stop them. They do only pop on the furniture when we're around which is good.
It just pisses us all off when they all pee in the house. Our German shep never had an accident, but then, when my sister got Ein and he started peeing on everything (i'm guessing marking?) and now our German Shep does it too and he makes lakes when he pees and it's hard to get out. How can we get them from remarking old spots because that's what I think their doing. We're not going to fix the German Shep and the Corgi because we plan to breed. But the maltese we will. All the bad habits came from this Welsh Corgi... ugh I'll see about the shock collars probably put 10 of them on the corgi

That's who she named him after, too bad our Ein isn't a data dog. He's just little Ein that barks and pees at and on everything lol

When you are correcting your dog (or anything else for that matter):
1. You have 3 (three) seconds from when you see the problem to start the correction. Anything longer, and it's out of their mind. After that, they don't know what the fuss was all about. 2. After starting the correction, you have 30 (thirty) seconds to do whatever you need to do. Rubbing their nose in it two hours after they've pooped on your kitchen floor does nothing. These are pack animals, and you need to talk the pack language.
