Thumbs up Other forums suck Mercedesshop rules!!!!

Okay so I recently bought a 1961 Ford F100 for a really good deal. And me being a mercedes guy needed some help so I registered to a ford forum and man those guys are frickin rude....either they have 1 word responses or the majority don't respond at all......I mean isn't the point of a forum to help educate and keep hobbies/cars/whatever alive and well?!! Anyways this is my long winded way of saying this forum is awesome and everyone on here keep doing what you are doing

I agree. I went on a Lincoln forum about the same time I joined this one. The first two or three questions I posed still have not gotten a reply three years later! There's not that much activity on that one and the people just don't seem very friendly.

I, too, love mercedesshop!

I find this forum to be very informative on technical stuff, and the open discussion area is a hoot.

I orignially started on another forum but it was mostly full of "Performance" oriented people. Finding any information (Even on a gas model, nevermind a diesel) was always a hassle. The longest responce that I ever had her was 15 minutes.

I read through a thread on a BMW forum ONCE....never again, talk about immature.

Thumbs up

We originally started as a technical website and have tried not to stray too far from our roots. Yes, we have an Open Discussion forum but the real focus is on the technical forums.

Most of the automotive forums I see have a small percentage of highly knowledgeable members so technical questions don't get answered. We're fortunate to have such a great core group of members and moderators.

'61 might not be old enough, but try this place:

http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/index.php

But yeah, few places have the knowledge this place does. One Honda board I used to post on had similar knowledge, but bizarrely had a bunch of attitude as well.

True! I see the same thing at TDIClub (and I would hope so... I'm a moderator!), must be the diesel DNA

Yeah, there's a MUCH higher level of maturity as well as social decorum on THIS forum than you find on many others . . . .
