Exhaust shop didn't cut out one of my precats?

How big of a problem is this?

My cat was clogged and needed to be replaced....so I was told he could either replace the main cat along with the two precats....or cut through the precats and just have one new Magnaflow cat which would be about $300 cheaper.

I went with one Magnaflow cat and to have the precats hollowed out.

Well.....After pulling my head gasket...I noticed ONE of the precats is not cut through!! What the heck? Isn't this causing an imbalance in the exhaust system?

I couldn't figure out why there was pieces of metal keep falling down into my new cat and making rattling noises. I went back to guy (before I found out only 1 of my precats were cut out) and said he needed to get them all out -- He did reluctantly I may add...and the exhaust sounded fine again. About a week later the noises were back. This has gotta be the reason as the precat he didn't cut out must breaking up and leaving debris down the pipe.

Is this a big problem that needs to be sorted out asap?

I think....I'll go to somebody else this time. All I need done is that cat hollowed out and then for them to clean the pipe to make sure nothing else is left. Shouldn't be too expensive, right?

Do it yourself.... You rebuilt your engine.... This is just removing the car, and hollowing it out.

I don't have the tools needed to do this type of job to cut the pipe next to the cat to clean out the debris, unfortunately
