USA taxes being spent

Pick a choice please.

"I'd prefer not to see my tax dollars spent on elective medical issues of any sort, especially on non-tax paying, non-citizens."

Here is the full text, but polls can only be 100 characters. The above is one choice- the other choice is the opposite of this choice.

I don’t think it’s that simple. And I don’t mean the choice here.
Especially when you throw in: “…issues of any sort…” and “…especially on…”

It's not simple, but most folks will be in one camp more than the other.

I don't agree with either of your propositions and I doubt that President Obama would agree with either of your propositions. I stand to be corrected on this, but I would expect federal regulations to authorize our tax dollars on certain types of medical procedures, but not on any procedure people may want. For example, has he authorized that our tax dollars be spent on boob jobs?

It appears to me that your poll is bogus and is meant to target only one response to support your obvious contempt of those less fortunate than you.

Is boob job "elective"?

If it is, then the questions cover it.
If it is not elective, then the questions cover it.

That's pretty well it as far as choices go.

And why is the President involved in a boob job, anyway?

I'm in favour of liposuction for fatties and boob jobs for women. Those are elective, right?

I'm guessing that you are in the minority on that.

Appearances can be deceiving, and you have assumed incorrectly.

I missed the elective part of the original post... if it ain't health threatening, screw them.

Pro boob-job? If done tastefully, at ones own expense, I'm all for um.

I'm afraid that I can't vote in this poll either.

The first premise allows tax dollars for elective medical issues "of any sort". This leaves the door wide open for expenditures on many things that should not be a burden on the taxpayer. I could see tax dollars spent on certain specific medial issues, once they are narrowly defined.

The second premise prohibits all tax dollars for any elective medical issue "of any sort". This counterpoint allows no funds whatsoever to be spent.

Given the two options, I'm hardly surprised at the outcome. I'm a bit amazed that anyone voted for the first premise.......it's really way out on the fringe of acceptability by just about anybody.

Your statement of "especially on non-tax paying non-citizens" is superflous to the two poll options and clearly shows your extreme bias to the poll.

If it's elective then it is by definition, not necessary for life. I don't mind helping somebody whose life is in danger but elective surgery? No way. No how.
