Geezzz, if you folks can’t even make it out of your driveways without getting stuck, repeatedly, what could be so important that you keep doing it? Where could you people need to go that is so important? Work? Must be one hell of a job.

Back when I was an employer. Employees would call in and ask if they needed to fight the weather/iced roads/etc to make it in. Hell no !!

My theory is this: If you aren’t going to make enough money, going wherever it is that you are trying to get to, to cover your insurance deductible and then some… Stay home.

In all seriousness, I know how you feel Sport. When it rains, it poors. Luckily you are not hurt, just were really cold, and possibly have a broken spirit.....

I think you will be OK....

So, are you going to fix the old ladys bumber?

Oh its only a dent. She didnt say anything about it considering she told me today that her shop says she has a transmission issue. When ars get stuck and your going from D to R a lot and rocking the car it puts tons of wear on the trans. We will see what outcome of this will be.

Well, sounds like your cars are OK. At least you do not have a bill for a $2k transmission.

Yeah I never understand people with the violent flipping from R to D to get unstuck....BAD. I bring the wheels to a full stop, switch it, wait for it to engage, then go at it again. Nice and gentle. I try to ride up in the "hole" that the wheel is in, then I jam on the brake, switch to the opposite direction, and gun it....usually it gets enough momentum going down that little slope to bust free. Works 90% of the time. The other 10% I just floor it till I get out....that works pretty good too. I'm going to need new rear tires next fall though, this winter has been rough! Worst winter in ages. I'll probably get a couple extra bundts and put some good studded snows on them for the rear wheels next winter....I want more traction!

On a separate note, I am presently without any alcohol in the house either! I'm going to have to go get some tomorrow!!
