Recession beer baby, also many of us sophisticated types prefer the cheap brews. I drink good brews with dinner, I drink cheap brews when I'm drinkin.

-5- The number of hours until Howie gets another infraction.

4 hours 58 minutes: The number of hours until RichC gets back on the board.

Busch Light? Ya big spender! Heck, I'm down to Milwaukee's Best in quarts. A quart bottle will set you back $1.62 at the quick shop here. Truly a bargain in a down market.

A person would think that he would have enough infractions by now to prevent that.

Just downstream of the curb.

PBR and MB is where I draw the line, a few of my Army pals do the PBR "because it's the quintessential American beer" but I hurl thinking about it.

Honestly, I'd take just about anything over Busch Light. For some reason I couldn't even drink it when I was in college and we all know we'd drink just about anything in college.

I can't think of PBR without getting a beer taste in my sinuses.

On the otehr hand, Pabst made a hell of a good Bock back in the 1960's. Dunno if they still do.

Just my $.02 worth (which used to be worth $.038) but we should hesitate to compare the current situation with The Great Depression. Back then the DJIA dropped nearly 80% over 3 years and took about 22 more years to recover to it's pre-depression level. There's no way to say whether this time it will be better or worse but it's way to early to draw an accurate parallel.

Somehow the word "quintessential" doesn't fit with the caliber of beers we are talking about.

LMAO!! Only a true beerhead can relate to a beer taste in the sinuses. Oh, please bury those memories!!

Have fun and just keep swinging the money may not be as easy to make as it was in past years but you can at least maintain.
Sound advice. My company offers 401K but I haven't signed up and don't plan to at least until I pay off my mortgage which is my financial priority. Seeing how much money people have lost with their 401K's I'm glad I made that decision. A lot of people make the mistake of keeping a cash reserve for emergencies while paying a lot of interest on their debt, especially from their credit cards. It should be done the other way. Pay off that credit card and use it for emergencies only if you can't pay the balance every month.

As to the OT, I don't think it's a depression yet but it may become one later. At this point it's not even close to what it was in the 1930's.

Simple definition...

If your neighbors, close friends or co-workers lose their job it's a recession.
If you lose your job it's a depression.
