damn HOA

Got a letter today from them saying that major car repair is not allowed in the driveway. I was having the fiberglass repaired at the time and I don't have a garage to work on the stupid car. Seriously, it was being worked on when everyone else is at work and was only two hours at max.

frign nazi's

I think I have a right to know who complained. Seriously, I can't work on my car in my driveway... wiuhfeiufh seriously, I hate HOA's.

Take a picture of your driveway from the street, then get that photo blown up on banner material and string it up between two posts at the end of your driveway while you're working on your cars.

EDIT: Or get a car port made with reflective material like those silver space blankets.

I bet it was the jerk on the corner across from us. He gave my step dad crap about parking his car half in the street half in the grass. That guy pissed and moaned and even scratched the car since the car was on the grass. Hello idiot, 3 feet in is not yours, its the counties property. you just maintain it. So we can park there.

I will never buy a house with an HOA...

Were you forced to live in a house subject to a homeowner's association?

HOAs were designed to keep neiborhoods nice. I agree with that. However I agree they can suck at times. I believe working on you car should be allowed.

Not to be a jerk , but parking in the grass is totally redneck.

Yep, and it's just fine also for someone to have a car on blocks for eight months while you're trying to sell your house.

Don's job wasn't a long-running one, but this is what these rules attempt to prevent.

Does the Agreement with the HOA define " major car repair"? or is that nebulous term open to interpretation?

its in Section 13 under car repair and parking

I don't have the book of draconian rules or the volumes of it.

Other people in my subdivision better have gotten some form of warning as well.

this HOA's rules say you can pretty much only wash your car
