Drunk drivers... Be safe.

This happened to me on my way home from my parents today. I left 10 mins after the Superbowl.

Near my house, they have a large construction project going on, where they channel the traffic thru concrete barriers. I followed the Cobalt into the channel, and he smacked the left, his mirror flew off and hit my bumper. He then went to the right, and hit the other barrier. His other mirror flew off and I swerved around it. After the barriers opened up, he hit a trash can, and it bounced into the lane in front of me. Luckily, I was able to avoid that, as I went around it in the turning lane.

Get another 400 feet down the road, as he is slowing approaching a green light. He slams on his brakes just before the limit line while the light is green. After about 15 seconds, he decides to go thru the intersection. I follow him down to the next light, and in the mean time, I am calling 911 to report him. I get an operator while we are approaching the next light. The Cobalt runs the red, and t-bones a minivan with kids in it. I pull over, and run over to the van, and make sure they are OK. The driver pops out of the Cobalt, and starts yelling at the people in the van. He gets close to me, and yells at me for following too close....

The police arrived about a minute, and restrain the Cobalt driver. He goes postal, and they put him into the back of the car....

So guys, be safe out there.... Watch out for the crazies in Cobalts....

Oh, the kiddies and parents in the van were OK. The van had to be towed away, but everyone looked fine.

I'm glad everyone was OK Justin.

I hope they take that jerk's license away.

Is the damage on your car worth an insurance claim?

Not likely. Idiot pinballing between two concrete barriers. What a sight.

He must be a Cardinals fan.

Good to hear you did the right thing, too bad he was not pulled over sooner. He is lucky nobody was injured.
