Fools!
I's only you little people who pay taxes. The rest of us scoff at you from our limos. It's safe for us because our windows are dark and we hire thugs to keep you cretins from throwing pie in our faces.

Well, I'm off to Camp David, bye-bye!

;D

PS Keep sending the money.

You simply pay your bill and penalities, and move on, BFD. I certainly don't hold it against someone, else I would have no small business owners or self-employeed professionals among my friends, simply because the tax system has become so complicated that just about anyone who belongs to those classes ends up paying some sort of oversight. Daschle, on the other hand, looked to me like he attempted to avoid paying taxes on purpose. Why Obama wasted political capital on that tired wretched pol from the old days is a mystery. I have heard others mention that Daschle might have obtained compromising photos of Michelle Obama taken by Girls Gone Wild, I can think of no other explanation for this fiasco.
I think the Daschle case an excellent argument that the tax code is too complex and complicated.
If only he would "see the light" and head up an initiative to simplify the tax code!!

Think of it, a simpler code would make more politicans able to serve in a future administration--no tax skeletons in the closet.

Yeah Daschle paid interest & penalties. Didn't get to the Levy stage.

I can see the problem. These people are self-motivated go-getters and are probably annoyed at the prospect of

1. having to pay for the services of a tax accountant just to

2. go through tedious paperwork and questions and then

3. pay more taxes on the inconsistencies they uncover

Better to just say nothing and hope that nobody notices........

Maybe said accountant was instructed to file 'aggressively'.

Let them STOP moralizing to the rest of us how patriotic it is to pay taxes.
Simply the code!

So what is it: is the guy too cheap to hire an accountant, or did he hire one he told to be aggressive?

I tell my accountant to be very aggressive--some years he won't even sign my returns

All speculation of course. But if it gets taken any further, I'd be interested to hear what his accountant has to say.
