That sounds like most of the teenage girls here in upstate NY. Yes sir that is Saratoga for you. The second they graduate High School(If they even make it) they go and have a baby all before the age of 20.

Therein lies the problem. At that rate, they are not productive and cost money. Why? Because there is no consequence. Take away all the funding for them and if they cannot feed the kids, take them away to foster homes or whatever as a ward of the state.

That's what I was thinking. Same for the people that stay in public housing with no desire try to make something of themselves. If they want to suck off of the gov't tit, do some gov't work.

Sweep the streets, pick up litter, paint fire hydrants, do anything! Make it work that isn't just a cake walk though. Make the type of work an incentive to get off welfare. Giving those who don't want to work something for nothing breeds more of the same. But don't hold your breath for workfare under Obama...this is a guy whose view of the workplace is so messed up that he views unions as the solution and not the problem. His concept of capitalism is, well, skewed. His view of a good government is that of a Socialist. By the way, when I would talk to people who said they were going to vote for "O" I would ask them why. Same pat answers all the time...no more Bush, Hope, Change, blah, blah, blah. Then I asked, what are the branches of government? Almost no one knew. How many Senators are there? Few knew. Basic questions could not be answered. Maybe there should be a test before you're allowed to vote. If you're stupid, then maybe you shouldn't be deciding the fate of our nation.

And sell the products of labor. Shoot, I was a weekend house parent for retarded citizens (yep, that's what we called them back then). During the week they disassembled telephones for Ma Bell, carefully putting the parts into different bins. They were paid piecemeal. They were as productive as they could be and loved their jobs and rarely missed a day of work.

I know folks who weave pine needle baskets to sell at craft fairs. We can go to the happy home with trees and flowers and chirping birds and basket weavers who sit and smile.

There's a job out there for anybody willing to work. Just swallow your pride and take what's available. Catch chickens. Honest work is never beneath you. Welfare always is.

Careful with the pep talk--you don't want to deprive us of one of the greatest scholars on the site. Can't work and educate for no money at the same time, you know.
