Depends on the drink;
Milk Shake--its the only way to drink one.
Beer--absolute No No

Beer with a straw is uncomfortable..........publicly or privately.

Chad300tdt 02-06-2009 03:41 PM

The hot thing in clubs these days is doing a "beer shot".

They put a straw in the bottle as a vent and slam the whole beer in one "shot".

My younger brother still goes to clubs and I found out about this from him.:o:D

Off to the side of your mouth. Beer won't leak if your slamming it down ... I tried it at home.:o A flexible top straw works well ... like a snorkel.

This poll is biased.

I am more partial to the Beer Bong.

That's not a straw, that's a HOSE!! Different question entirely.:D:D

In ATL, the proper way to drink a 40oz bottle or 32oz can is shrouded in a bag, through a flexible-necked straw. I've even heard cops tell a non-compliant bum to "get a straw or I'm going to take it."

I see. A straw? I feel comfortable, but I prefer to drink straight from the glass. Soda tastes better.

Fulcrum525 02-06-2009 04:01 PM

I don't drink beer or any other alcoholic beverage so a straw is fine with pretty much anything except for milk and juices.

I'll drink any soda, lemonade, or iced tea from a straw, but I would feel funny drinking a gin tonic with those itty bitty straws that come with them.

There comes a point in some evenings where actually holding the glass upright is enough of a challenge that leaving the glass on the table and making use of those itty bitty straws starts to make sense. No point in spilling perfectly good gin!

More so with martinis, margaritas, and any other drink with other ridiculously top heavy glasses.
:P

I have no problem with it but prefer not drinking with one.
