Craigslist a poor mans friend

So over the past week my wife and I have bought a kitchen table with 6 chairs for $400, a TV stand thing for 80 and a desk for 125. Now if I did the math on these correctly the "new" items value of all of this is roughly around 2,500 dollars, 1,500 for a table with 6 chairs and 2 leaves for expansion (no really its a nice table), 300 for the exact same TV stand thing (in best buy). and 700 for the desk we will be getting from an office that is buying new stuff (comperable model in staples). So poor and know how to haggle Craigslist is for you! Besides "new" stuff is overrated cause as soon as you get it home it is now used stuff.

While it is a praiseworthy endeavor to buy things as cheaply as one can I frequently wind up with whole contents of houses as a result of the many years of "clean outs"I've done after divorce, death or illness forces the house to be sold.

We generally take the stuff, move it either to an empty rental or a storage barn and have "tag sales"several times a year, nothing is thrown away

Look to see more "bargains" as the economy worsens and households dissolve...

I'd say there's a fair number of thrifty people on this forum. The diesel guys spend a lot of time in junkyards.

I go once a week so I can find new stuff like euro items to flip on ebay to make some money

you might be a diesel owner if every employee at the junkyard knows you on a first name basis.
