haven't i seen this car for sale before, end of last summer.??

again, personal taste here, but i usually prefer unadorned benzes - but thats just me. on the other hand, i do like the c36, so that shows how inconsistent i am.

i thought the same thing, but in my case it was because I like it in red. the pictures dont show all of the components of the one in the original post, im guessing this might be a grey market one with a body kit. I still like it, but not 11G's worth

Go down, drive it, look for real AMG badges written on the engine, shocks, body kit etc etc.

Get back to us and just hope you don't fall in love with it or your wallet will take a hit

Maybe I'll swing by after I get my 300D registered tomorrow ... it's not far from the DMV. Would be interesting to see what paperwork he has with it, or if he knows its backstory. I'm not wild about those wheels.

Wheels are the easiest things on the planet to swap out, don't be scared (Unless they run so hard that they've pounded the crap out of the suspension......) I don't think i'll ever buy any SL but if I ever had to drive one I would insist on putting euro headlights and OEM wheels on it.

Yeah, depending on what those wheels are on there, I might be able to sell them for a decent return and then buy some nice OEM wheels from someone here. LOL ... I shouldn't even dare talk like I'm going to buy this. I could afford it, but I'm not sure it would be the best investment. They're asking $10,500, last I saw.

In the driver's door jamb will be a sticker that says "Imported By" - take a note of who that is and post it up here. If it's a company, I may have heard of it; if it's an individual, you may be able to find him/her. Also, look in the service manual on the first few pages to see if that offers the same information.

Oddly enough I ran across a Euro 280SL a few months back and they were asking the same price.....for a car that wasn't exactly in good condition......
