This guy had brass ones...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jack_Churchill

He used a sword, and not a girly sword, a ****ing claymore.

Yeah the big ones, used for lobbing off heads. Think of him as a far more nuts version of braveheart.

The Germans captured him and sent him to a concentration camp...he walked out but was captured again...he bailed from the next camp they sent him too...and walked 150 miles with only a rusty can of onions for food to get back to Allied lines... He was pissed off that the war ended while he was escaping, and got even more pissed that the Japanese gave up before he could get to Burma.

He was one of the few people who were all pissed off when the war ended!

Churchill was said to be unhappy with the abrupt end of the war, saying it could have lasted twenty more years if the Americans hadn't intervened.

I have read probably a hundred books on ww2 including all of churchill's own all seven or eight of them and don't recall him ever saying what you say above.

He worked literally for years to secure America's intervention. When we came in England was virtually bankrupt since we had sold them munitions accepting only gold bullion as payment until they had virtually none left.

Pretty impressive escape there too--particularly the train part. I get a kick out of reading his (in his hand) shipping list which is reproduced in his son's biography of him--six shirts, four pair of shoes, 20 bottles of scotch, 15 of vodka, four cases of wine, ect.....

Read a book called, "The Long Walk" by Slavamir Rowotiz (sp). When you bring this book up there will be others about escapes. Most of them you will not believe.
