My MOST favorite things are my family and friends. Just wanted to clarify that so you guys don't think I value possessions over them.

favorite object? Our new 103 year old house. Very nice Queen Anne that will keep me busy for the rest of my life.

favorite experience? Our family gatherings with wife kids and their significant others. Particular fun is our yearly spring break trip. 4-5 days of absolute lunacy. Examples: the five of them ages (at that time) 14-23, having big battle in the chalet with air-soft guns. (approved by me, but I made them pick up EVERY pellet). Or the time oldest son's girlfriend mooned youngest (14) son. Looked like he had a stroke. Completely locked him up. Don't think he had ever seen a femimine derriere up close in person before. Or the time two years ago when the whole family was clinbing across the boulders in the creek and the wife was warning the kids to be careful and not fall in the water. Then she promptly baptised herself and the digital camera (both survived fine).

We're talking about material things here:

1. Beer
2A. NFL
2B. MLB
3. HDTV

... and experiences other than (family related functions and) sex:

1. Sitting in my recliner doing 1, 2 & 3 above.
2. Lounging on deck of the boat in the sun listening to classic rock, watching the world go by with the waves crashing on the beach as a backdrop.
3. Listening to the opening day baseball games at work, especially when it's warm and sunny and the windows are open.

You workaholic.

I could easily switch lounging on the beach to lounging on a boat near the beach. I hope to join you in this activity one day.

I'd certainly welcome the company!

I don't know what it is, there's just something about opening day even if I'm at work. All of the radios in the warehouse tuned to games, customers are coming in and the phone ringing off the hook. I guess it's a subconscious thing, it means spring is in the air! Of course, if I dreaded coming to work that would skew the results significantly.

In no particular order...

  • Watching a calf take it's first steps (particularly after assisting on the delivery!!!).
  • A beautiful sunset with my bride at my side.
  • Finishing up 400-500 feet of fence, taking a step back and looking at a job 'well done.'
  • The aroma of fresh-cut hay.
  • 5th gear and 70mph in my 300TD.

Project completion is pretty rewarding. I always take time to admire the end results.
