Gun owners beware hr45 is here

Here's the first bill introduced in the house that mandates licensing for all firearms owners please contact your representative and ask him to vote against this.

-You will have to carry a photo ID firearms license.
-A training class is required to be licensed.
-Disclosure of your storage method is required for license.
-A thumb print is required for license.
-Every sale recorded by the federal government.
-If you move, and don't tell the Attorney General within 60 days, you are a criminal.
-If a firearm is stolen and you don't report it, you are a criminal.
-There will be no grandfathered firearms.
-If you do not obtain a license and report every firearm you currently own, you are a criminal.

It looks to be no worse than what we have now in IL, and that isn't really much of a problem.

In fact, the next time you find yourself in (outstate) IL, go into a gun shop and ask what they think of the FOID law. Every gun seller that I've asked likes the law. You can hand a potential customer a firearm for inspection, and you have a really good idea that he's not going to run out the door with it. That's because you have to show the FOID card (or out-of-state identification) before you can touch the firearm in the store.

I don't give a rat's a$$ what a "gun seller" likes or doesn't. The 2nd wasn't written with retailers in mind.

If this is a problem for the 2nd, why isn't the category of "prohibited persons?"

seems like a good idea to me.

why would i want to shoot someone?

the people i know who own guns are all for licensing and registration. its no different than owning a car. (and i didn't see anything in there about insurance)

Do you really want every nut in the country to legally carry a gun ???

Do you have any better ideas on how to keep guns out of the hands of psychopathic killers ?

Ya, gotta have a lisence to chatch a fish, why not to carry a gun ?

I would rather the guy go to prison for sipmle illegal possesion of a weapon then wait till after he commits murder.

Sell your liberty for the promise of an increased probability of potential security.

A psychopathe will have no trouble getting a gun, these laws only hinder law abiding citizens, much like locks on your front door

May be I am missing the part that infringes a right to own a weapon. Seems like I have to do pretty much the same things to own a car or buy a house, get a drivers license.... etc.

I didn't know that your car was used for self protection and ownership was constitutionally guaranteed.

I don't see anything here that will take guns away from people who comply with the law. Besides, having a car is more important than having a gun, and cars have to be registered so why not register guns too. Please save the conspiracy theories for your kids.
