Loaded Mashed Potatoes???!

Sounds good. I presume at least some bacon and cheese are in there.

I love loaded baked potatoes too. I found them to be even better if you soak the potatoes overnight in brine. They get a salty crust then. I like eating the potato skin.

What do you put in with the bourbon marinade, anything else? That sounds pretty good.

1.5 Lbs potatoes (use whatever you like I like the yokon golds or the russet reds) cut and boil in salted water.
make 1 whole head roates garlic
While all this is going on I usually do 12 strips bacon and fry those until very crispy. (or more depending)

Start mashing potatoes and garlic and add bacon. Add cheese of choice I like some colby jack but sometimes if I am feeling fancy I go with gouda as well. I usually do 1 cup and 1/2 cup. I add 1 small container sour cream and butter to my liking. Then add fresh cracked pepper to taste. This recipie is all about what you and your dinners like. So if you want more cheese add some it you want more sour cream and less butter do it. Ohh and garnish with fresh chives. This recipie is very very hard to go wrong with.

I like how we so often end up talking about food.

We're celebrating my son's 3rd BDay tomorrow. It's really on the 16th, but much easier to get everyone over for a party on a Saturday.

We'll be having boneless pork ribs (rubbed with Bicentennial Rub from Penzey's), baked potatoes, broccoli and a strawberry spinach salad.

What's on everyone's menu?

Okay Burbon marinade
3 oz extra virgin olive oil
4 tablespoons dijon mustard
1/2 cup burbon
5 oz soy sauce
4 tablespoons red wine vinegar
2 tablespoons worcestshire (k spelling is hard lol)
2 tablespoons A-1
2 tablespoons garlic
2 tablespoons fresh cracked pepper to taste.
2 tablespoons salt to taste.

this is for 2 steaks let sit over night, turn in the morning then cook in the evening. ENJOY. I sometimes leave out the red wine vinegar.

And yes most threads turn into food lol...thats what I love about this place.
