Is anybody scared
after listening to the President tonite? Keep in mind I hope him the best but I think 800 billion of good money is fixing to be thrown to bad. The American taxpayer should be afraid, very afraid.
He did not start all this mess but the worst of it is going to show up on his shift. Please don't turn this into a dem's/republicans thread. I am under the impression that we will be paying $12 for a loaf of bread within the next couple/few years. Has anyone ever heard of an inflationary depression?

Scared? Yup!
We are in for it when China stops buying our debt I suppose... Get ready for your 3 McDonald's Big Mac Food Rations per day!
America had a good run, now we are just screwed, time for another country to become the superpower.

Until the US makes more than 10% of what it consumes....everything is in trouble. Simple as that. We need laws to get rid of cheap labor country products.

Scared? Nah. this country has survived stupider episodes in the past. I see no reason that it wont survive this one. I'm just sorry taht my grandchildren will be burdened with a debt that we've incurred to maintain an unrealistic lifestyle.
It's analogous to applying for yet another credit card and transferring debt. How many times can we continue to do this? |

This is what happens when a lot of people "make" money but don't really put any sweat equity into it. A house of cards built on interest and dividends. Our economy transitioned from agricultural based, to manufacturing, to banking based. So now there should be a new base, but what?

Very succinctly put. And yet there are folks out there who still can't figure out why this is a bad idea...

I might advise listening instead of watching before you condemn anyone's efforts and ideas.
Of course the above requires a rather firm understanding of current conditions but there you are.....
