1979 Mercedes "woody" wagon ?????

Not sure if this has been posted or not, but its quite interesting. I like old wagons and ones with the wood or woodgrain and like the concept of woodgrain on a 70s or 80s Mercedes wagon, but this one seems overdone and why are the front fenders not done?

I didnt notice it until you mentioned it. Keen eye! Also, I was thinking it was a diesel. Suprised it was an inline 6 gas engine. That interior is nice too!

Hmm...going for that traditional woody (20's-40's) steel fender front look? Interesting since the 70's-80's family trucksters did "wood grain" the front fenders, too.

I'm torn. Kinda neat, kinda overload. It is cool that it is actually wood.

The license plate is clever.

I really like it, and the condition looks very good. Biggest problem I have with it is that it lacks AC - a requirement here in Texas.

The concept is good but they should have left alittle bit of the white on the rear quarter panel as it stands now it looks like ttwo cars stuck together. There isn't any design continuity.

Positively the dumbest-looking thing done to a wagon to date. That sure as heck isn't the original engine either.

I don't think the "Woody Treatment" did anything positive for that car.

Viewing that picture is the equivalent of accidently witnessing the aftermath of a fatal auto wreck.
