I hate new tires

New tires seem to be nail magnets with me. Right front was looking a little low.. sure enough a nail.. Then I just noticed the left rear... effing screw... seriously... damn irresponsible contractors.

Plain unvarnished truth is Mercedes are nail magnets.
Don't ask me why,Joe,I dunno....but ALL of my Benzes{and I've had 5}have at some points suffered tread punctures from....nails!

A plug kit,in addition to a 12V compressor I carry at all times.

Irresponsible contractors? They just want you to stimulate the economy by buying tires.

I think the construction meltdown can be measured in the number of flats I have had to fix. I just noticed the first screw I have had in the 240Ds tire in the last six months.

only place I had been with construction was my friends church in plant city to voluteer for a M.S benefit dinner.

the left rear had a 1.5" sheet metal screw in it and the left front had nothing. I'll have to watch that one.

First I went to wal mart just because I know one guy there and he always takes care of me for patches. But he was off today, I found that out after waiting for 30- minutes to sign me in. So I said screw you wal mart and went to the local tire place.. waited 15 minutes and still no service.. screw you guys.. then another tire place... nothing..

so I had to drive a town over, winter haven to get my tire patched at a place that does good work. $15 and it was done in 10 minutes

patch

Patched from the inside or plugged from the outside? I usually just plug em with that kit that has the beef jerky looking things.

I attracted a few nails with the 300CD, not so much with any of my other vehicles. I got a nail or two in my Tacoma, but that was after a bad wind storm that blew off most the roofs in the area, so shingles were a common site in and along the roads...

For us its screws. I had one in my left rear tire last fall, got it plugged and its been fine. My dad has had it happen twice on his SD...screws both times....our van had a couple also. Why are there so many screws in the road!?

The only time I've gotten a flat tire is when I was driving to Costco to replace my worn out tires. It happened 100 feet away from my house Hit a nail...glad it wasnt my new tires.

Working in construction...no matter how far away I part from the jobsite I get nails. The VW already got one, and the other rear tire on the SDL has a patch in it. That happend 1 week after I got new tires...loved that one.

I'm getting commercial tires on my truck when I get it, there thicker.
