I about them from various shows:

Samurai 7, both the original and anime.

Late Edo/ Early Meiji:
Rurouni Kenshin
Bakumatsu Kikansetsu Irohanihoheto
Peacemaker Kurogane

I'm sure I'm missing a few, I enjoy historical shows that try to flesh out historical figures. Such as Saito, Ichimura Tetsunosuke, Hijikata Toshizō, Okita Sōji, etc.

I learned that the Shinsengumi were totaly bad ass, and Saitō Hajime in Kenshin is totaly bad ass. The Shinsengumi were like cops...that you didn't want to piss off.

I couldn't stop laughing the first time I saw the "Are you trying to sell me the gun"

The entire 2nd half of the episode was full of so many great interactions it boggles my mind. Revy vs Neos, Dutch vs Revy, Revy vs loudmouth, and of course, old guy vs Dutch over the phone at the end

Since you havn't seen the second part, here is a little sample from the most freaky part in any series I have ever seen. BL really push's things with the Romanian twins, even I was freaked out a bit.

To lighten things up a bit, here it is at its most entertaining. The moral here is do not take shots at the "Church of Violence"

I've had an odd attraction to them (probably stems from my mini-/microcar fascination) for quite some time. Once I saw a TDI conversion it fed the fire even more. They are fantastic trail rigs and there is a plethora of offroad upgrades for them. Give him a low bid offer, you never know. It's a niche vehicle attractive to a select few nuts , especially while diesel is higher than RUG.

When I think of Samurais, I think of swords. The Japanese are generally considered to be one of the best sword-makers in the world, are they not? Did they invent Damascening (sp?), or was that someone else? That is really a beautiful method of knife making.
