That came out of nowhere....was there a post that I missed where you said you were interested in a new car?

That being said.....R129, good choice. I'd take it over any R230 every day.

As you know, if there are no pictures it didn't happen. :o

As has been stated, that kind of came out of nowhere.

If someone gets a new car in the forest and there's no one to photograph it, did it really happen?

I dint know you could buy new cars in the Forest.

Not even Subaru FORESTERS.... !!!
:P

Good choice, a late R129 would be one of the last quality engineered SL's.

The 500 ones are well balanced, and easier and less costly to maintain than the V12 ones are.

Depends...does the car stay in the forest?

Yeah, maybe, but those SL600s are a real blast to drive!

To me they are much like a bonnie, bonnie baby: Much joy to hold in your arms for awhile, but even MORE fun to GIVE back,

........and NOT fun at all to take care of on a day to day basis!

The SL65 AMG was a real blast. I could have BOUGHT it, but probably couldn't have afforded to keep it running.

iwrock 03-16-2009 02:11 PM

Nice Mistress. What color is it?

The R129 is a blast to drive. Very well balanced, and powerful. Not to mention they are fairly reliable.

I let Jim drive the 600 around the block. He was too afraid to get on it... I drive it, and got it sideways with him in it, and scared him... :D

Well, Jim didn't have a light foot the time he was driving CMAC and me around SF! I took that SL65 out on the Dulles toll road, stepped on it and was at 115 like that! My neck is still sore . . . .
