I only pay $528 a year for the 300E. With the friendly green gecko.

And its nice not having that money with eyes on it following me around....

Sorry, but I can't resist,

*sound of pitch pipe and clearing of throat*,
"We are AIG, oh yes we are,
We're here to insure your car,
We want your money, oh yes we do,
That's two dollars for me and one for you,
Once you sign with us you'll never go back,
'cause after all, it's a contract,

If we refuse your claim,
It's not us you should blame,
YOUR contract is not really binding,
'cause a loophole, we'll be finding!"

Way too little information. Assuming you are happy with the current coverage you already have, what is the cost to switch to AIG?

You have to understand that almost all of AIG is solvent and is highly regulated by the government. The only part that is bad is the Credit Default Swaps business. The auto insurance is still OK. That being said, I don't think I would leave my little green friend for AIG. Now I might ditch the gecko for the pink haired special agent when my policy comes up...

Everybody should shop around as much as possible for all their insurance and do so continually. I had Allstate for a long time before I realized this. Since then I have had State Farm, Progressive and now GEICO. It alldepends on what rate they will give you right now plus the coverage. I always take the highest liability I can get as I don't want to lose my house if there is an accident.

You're already writing a check to AIG, you just don't get anything from them.

Go ahead. Be my guest. The government will guarantee they'll payout if something happens.

In post 8, they already mentioned that it was solvent. Has that changed lately?
