If you drop a part it will fall into the most difficult place to get to, or the place that will make the most noise if you leave it there.

AND

It will be a custom difficult part to replace.

If a story contains the words "... and then the bag broke...", it will not have a happy ending.

If you make it sailor-proof, nature will design a better sailor.

Whenever you demonstrate a broken appliance to a repairman, it will work perfectly...

When you are showing off a major accomplishment to people someone will always start pointing out its flaws.

Keeping with that spirit, Ancient Chinese Saying: Virginity like bubble. One prick, all gone.

From the new product design/manufacturing team,
"No design will survive it's initial product run"

If you've ever been involved with designing and manufacturing a new product, you know what I am talking about. The most carefully designed product on the blue print will always have that "glitch" which shows up AFTER the manufacturing phase. "Whaddya mean you cant insert that mounting screw once you put those other 300 parts together?" "Well, no big deal, we'll just enlarge this hole here, means we need to move these traces over here, gotta move that row of caps, hmmm, they're a little too close to that heat sink so we'll....."

Probably goes all the way back to the invention of the first spear head,
"Now, if we put a point on each end of the stick then can have two pointy ends"

And if you move to the faster line, that line will slow down and the one you were on will speed up.
