Yep, and it went downhill pretty fast from there.

Yeah, a lot of people have it real hard right now and it probably doesn't take much to make them blow up. Not everyone has guaranteed shelter and income.

So now does he get an infraction? or a warning?

I'm still trying to figure out the system here.[/quote]

If someone tells on you, you can receive an infraction or a warning, based on what the moderator feels is appropriate. (don't ask how I know)
I would guess that after his repeated personal attacks, he may well have been banned, or at least racked up some infractions.

It's laid out here -

I think everyone needs to back out of this and keep it between the seller and the OP of this thread.

He mistook your PM for attitude, and you have fed this fire for too long.

We could all send the seller lovely notes of apology.
Maybe we should all chip in and buy his car.
Or maybe send some of Tylers post to the seller, so he might understand that he is not a jerk. In fact, that would have been a fine thing for him to do when this all started, read some of the posts here, so as to understand his audience. Guess he was just looking for a free classified ad. Either way, I think we've heard the last of him.

My opinion? This board ought to enforce a "no dumping rule." Seriously - no one is going to try to sell cars on this site anymore because there are too many people with nothing better to do than to crap on someone's FS ad.

I've been guilty of it in the past, but on further reflection, let the man sell his car. Don't like the price? Move on. Think the pictures suck? Move on. Think the description sucks? Move on. Need more info on the car? If you are a serious buyer, ask for more info and either buy the car or don't.

I've seen way too many $2,500 cars that are damn near 30 years old get picked apart on the FS section.

"Everyone?"

I would disagree, and it would appear so do you, as evidenced by your participation (feeding) this very thread.

All the combined attitude be dammed. If viscious, threatening, lewd language is used by any forum participant toward another, that alone is grounds for a good 6-month ban, minimum. That guy went over the top X 10........

I wouldn't have believed it, if I hadn't read it. Unbelievable.........

i don't know....i bought my car here. check out the post: http://www.peachparts.com//shopforum/showthread.php?t=233307

it's informative, lots of pics, and the guy was really nice about answering anyone's questions. i think people should sell their cars here and people should buy them here. but you have to be a fool to not think that at a site where the obsessive fans of these cars go, you can get away with too little information or too few pics. and, there's a difference between, "thanks for the advice, but i'm going to stick with my classified ad as is," and insulting someone's personal life and grandmother. that's just off limits in my book and you pretty much agree to no-holds-barred fighting after that.

and, i'm the kind of person who might not be a serious buyer until i see some great pics and a list of repairs done. you'll lose business if you're leaving out info in hopes of only "serious" buyers request it.

Squabble's got it right, you enter into the world of fanatical MB owners, you should be prepared for some extremely well targeted advice and suggestions.

The dump is open
