Yeah thats what I was thinking, $400k-$500k.

The old Rybo's are not worth all that much, since they are wood.

He might have put $2.2 into it, that might be where that number came from?

People don't walk away from Rybovich's like that. Its not a throw away production boat.

Abandoned boats are nothing new, but not that kind of boat.

The folks that I feel for are the few groups I've read about who got in, began to smell a rat and got out fairly quickly. Turns out that their money may be seized and they'll get about 20% or so back.

Compared to what other convertible sportfish? I can't think of one that would be worth more that was semi-custom other than maybe a vintage Tiffany or Hines-Farley (which are much more custom than Rybovich ever was).

You could get a Hatteras of the same size and vintage for 1/3$ of the Rybo. They were all cold molded plastic over triple plank mahogany afaik. Dad had a Runner ('92/'93) that was a PITA b/c of the triple 300 Mercury o/bs, which was the company's last experiment. That mold, however, has been sold to Dusky, who now uses it as their 30' open dayboat. Somebody else in VA (not Dusky) bought one of their other molds that is in production. Maybe Judge Yachts or similar.

That's a new one for me, can you back that one up?

Nice sympathy; some people worked hard for 40 years to build their lives, build their wealth, so that they'd have enough money to get their kids into whatever college they wanted, and many planned on making enough money so their grandkids and great grandkids could be ensured a good head start. Making money isn't about material things, it's about building enough wealth to give your family and the family that isn't even born yet a good foundation to make something of themselves.

This ******* ruined not only those who invested with him, but also the great grandkids of those who invested with him. He ruined GENERATIONS of families, and you're too jaded to see that. You must be under 25 yrs.

Just something I read a long while back that during his speeches, some Jews actually felt themselves believing him.

Now you are reaching. That is like saying because you stole from me, you affected my kids, my grand kids, etc, etc. Sure, he did something wrong. However, those people who got swayed by his charm instead of properly checking it out are also to blame. No, I am 42

Wow, talk about stepping waaaay out on a limb. I would either dig up the 'book' you read that in, or offer a public retraction. Was the book written by Mahmoud Ahmadinejad?

This is chaos theory in action. It might seem like a small ripple in an otherwise large lake but the reprecussions from this will effect MILLIONS of people in the present, nevermind the future.

Like I said, I don't remember exactly where I read or saw it. There is something here that alludes to it. http://www.jewishaz.com/jewishnews/980828/books.shtml

Given this extraordinary type of evil, and to establish how Hitler wielded such a mesmerizing hold over millions of people, including some Jews, Rosenbaum wants to know what made him "tick.

Even if you discount that, you cannot argue that Hitler was a master orator and could sway Germany with his silver tongue.

Here is a simple formula I have used. The more I find a person likable by conventional standards, the less I trust them. Or as the Ferengi would say in Rule #48: The bigger the smile, the sharper the knife. In my personal dealings, I tend to avoid people who are above average in that department. A rule that has served me well. Sure, today you are nice and slick and say all the right words to me. How do I know you won't use that skill to lull me into a false sense of security and try feel me up?

I guess I was right - you are jaded. Because I'm an honest person who believes in myself, I believe most people are honest and do good things without reason. I trust people I don't know because I am trustworthy myself.
