Peach tree produces fruit but shows sign of disease?
Last year my peach tree had alot of leaves that turned orange and curled and had little bumps on them. What caused this? The leaves actually looked alittle better as the fruits began to appear but they were still not right. The fruit seemed to develop normally but I'm worried about the health of the tree itself. Any ideas?

Fruit trees are subject to all kinds of fungi and bugs. We have to keep after our peach trees with fungicide and careful applications of insecticide or we get nasty looking or no fruit at all. I don't see how the organic guys do it.

it's called "Peach Leaf Curl" or "Peach Curl" and you can google it to find cures. i believe you have to spray fungicide (natural or chemical) all over the branches and trunk during the winter when they're dormant and make sure all trimmings and leaves that have fallen are taken away from the base of the tree and destroyed. double check though. pruning out the "middle" of the tree will increase air circulation and will help make sure there isn't a good environment for the curl to come back.

This is big here in WA. Peach leaf curl. There are trees that are less prone, but it is the wet weather causing a fungus. Nursery told me if you can get them to be 4-5 years old the tree gets strong enough to battle it. But still needs sprayed, and all leaf and branches that come from the tree need to be burned.

I was just about to post and ask what's the best Peach Schnapps. My favorite is DeKuyper Peachtree Schnapps! It makes a great martini... If we can't make light of this just a bit, we'll all be crying...
