My point is this...it isn't racially derogatory to call an illegal from Mexico a wetback. They got that moniker from coming through the Rio Grande river, and they got to American soil dripping wet. If we were to call all Mexicans wetbacks, then it becomes a racial issue.

You need to be able to tell the difference between racial issues and monikers.

In my world, there isn't one American citizen different than another when it comes to constitutional rights...if you are a legal citizen, then these rights are legally extended to you.

PC names are stupid and belittle people. A garbage man being called a Refuse Removal Technician is dumb.

Employing/assisting the law breaking illegally present foreign scum, in any way, is a far worse damage to our country in my estimation too.

No, I don't refer to all black people as African Americans. If they ask to be called African American, I would oblige them.

The term hispanic that everyone insists is politically correct and the "immigrants" will go along with being called is a term invented by the US Govt census buearu. So why does everyone have to use it--Why do they consider it a putdown to be called a mexican-if they are from Mexico, and why do uneducated Americans think it appropriate to call them "Spanish" when they are concerned of not appearing racist? The're not Spaniards.

They are Mexicans when living in their country, and wetbacks when they enter my country illegally.

As for what they are after living here...I'll refer to a buddy of mine from work who is a 1st generation American in his family. He calls them Beaners.

A privilege is it? (thanks for capitalizing though) Just showing that I don't give a rat's a55 what you call me, and that I'm not some poncy pursuer of all that is PC. My point is, a debate over any issue is debased by utilizing derogatory slang. A fact that seems to be lost with the radical elements on both sides. I would like to think that most of the people here on this forum have enough education to make their arguments without resorting to name calling. It lacks class, (we are Mercedes owners) and ruins what could otherwise be a fine discussion of our respective viewpoints.

Lately the slurs being bandied about here on this forum seem to have hit an all time high. Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Germans, Jewish, Blacks, Mexicans, Arabs - I've seen all of these groups get the mud slung on them here recently, and I finally got tired of it.
