I got a NEW JOB!!!
 

I applyed for a job in EDMOND MEDICAL HOSPITAL 2 month ago, and finally, today I got a call that i was hired as a CNA (certified nursing assiatance), You might be thinking "this is weird a guy as a NURSE???" but really its hard to find any good job when it offers full health benifits and a good pay when your going to start college :eek:, and its a real job security because our state is very low on nurses, so i decided to step in and help out. I decided go ahead and continue my studies in my local Vocational class to be a AUA (advance unlinced nurses) get paid even more $$$, but really i not all about the money, just want to help out in these trouble times... oh and for you high schoolers or having a son or daughter going to high school, i would suggest to start this nursing program its great for paying off college, and having a outstanding resume...

The only advantage to being a CNA is when you finally realize that you don't want to be working at the bottom of the pecking order. Ever. It's a ***** job, somebody has to do it, but you want a better life for yourself.

Congrats and smart move- there is a nursing shortage in the US. As far a being a mel is concerned- not weird at all especially when dealing with large patients. Good luck and glad to here it.

CNA is basically an entery job into the medical field, I really want to be a medical technologists, diagnosis disease through human bodly fluids, the requrements is to have a degree in science (chemistry, biology, any class that have to do with living orginasms) and have some expeirence in hospitals. That's why I am startina as a Cna

Consider becoming a paramedic. Jobs are plentiful and it is exciting, rewarding work. Compared to other jobs in the medical field it pays a little lower but you work basically autonomously instead of in a hospital or nursing home. As a paramedic you can also demand more if you go into nursing since you will have skills that few nurses have.

Best of all, you are with the patients when they need help the most - prehospital emergency care. Check it out.

For those, don't you have to have ACLS training? AFAIK, that is a b1tch of a class.

Congrats! Nothing wrong with being a "murse" at all. I consider the medical field now and then, but as an English major I'm probably only qualified to be one of those clowns that comes in to entertain the sick folks. Plus I know I'd be disappointed to find out that hospitals aren't actually like the TV show "Scrubs."
