I raced a GL550 "RENNTECH"
Hello. Its C280'S son George. I just had to post on here. Tonight at like 6ish I was comming home from school with my friend. As we pulled out of the campus parking lot we got behind this Mercedes GL550 with a "RENNTECH" Badge on it. I also noticed it was from Florida and from Mercedes of Orlando. As soon as my friend went to ask me what "RENNTECH" was(Considering she is a girl and most lickley would not know) I said "ahh dont worry about it. That guy and his wife cant possibly have any RENNTECH parts under the hood" I swear no joke as soon as I said that he takes off. I take off after him and we where going about 115-120 and I let off. I could not belive how damn fast this thing was. It took off like a damn bat out of hell or something. Holy crap. He kept going past 120mph and then got in the far left lane and puts his flashers on and hes now pulling away even more. The road was flat so we saw him for a while. Im guessing he had to of been going at least 130mph. So then my friend truns to me and she then goes "Ummmmm George I think we lost"

Thats why I can't imagin ever owning owning one. Unless its a super charged Range Rover Sport, that I can drive around in wearing a polo shirt and smoking cigars.

The G500 has a top speed of 115.... It scary going that fast in it too.

At leas the guy is using his Renntech equipment!
The most annoying thing is people that buy those type of cars and idle them around for show. Poor cars!

I don't see a problem with doing triple digits on an empty highway. What burns my wood is the morons who try that in rush hour or heavy traffic. I have actually called the cops more times than I can count to give them the plate numbers of the 'Michael Schumacher" wannabe...
I don not exceed 80 in the Suburban The tires make too much noise at exactly 80 AND I cannot afford the gas The BMW sees 100+ on a regular basis (ONLY on deserted roads)[FLAME SUIT ON] I cannot see the point of the AMG and RENNTECH SUVs With their lowered suspensions and low profile tires you cannot take them off road and they have too much power to really run in the snow so I can't see driving them inother than perfect confitions. You might as well get a C65 and go faster with more mpg than run a brick at 130mph-- just my opinion. I have never ridden or driven one so I cannot know the rush of making a two ton brick go supersonic
