And Stihl Chainsaws, they never miss anything a simple powered tool is designed as if the engineers really give a $hit and likely use the tool themselves.

Same goes for Zeiss equipment.

Leica, Uher, Lowa -- take your pic. The Krauts know what they're doing. My favorite vacation spot, too! I wonder what those road tires run? I need a set for my commuter, but I'll bet they're spendy. Probably can't justify it for a commuter bike. A pair probably costs more than I spent for my road bike.

I was sold on Stihl when I inherited one of my grandfather's saws before I gave a crap about maintenance. It would just sit on the shelf for months until I needed it and it'd fire right up 3rd or 4th pull with little to no maintenance, original spark plug and old gas. :o

Now it sits proudly next to the Farm Boss and gets the preventative maintenance and attention it deserves.

Yea, ironicly my Volvo wagon needs the same work....its going to be a Behr..or I should say it is a Behr but I think I'm going to try another brand this time around.


For a high failure part, why in the hell to they put them so deep in the car? The heater core on the volvo is a 5-10 year part and is fairly simple while the evap design was obviously stolen from MB or vice versa.

My main saw these days is my grandpas old 012, its modified and cuts like an 029, another thing about Stihl is the chains last much longer I cut at least 20 cords (face) with the 012 this winter and the chain is still sharp. Of course much credit goes to the operator.

Then get into scopes, binocs and medical equipment bar none the Germans do the best, even the microscopes and arthroscopes are built like old MB's.

I have 2 Stihl chain saws and a Stihl hedge trimmer,,,, all super machines. A Stihl leaf blower is next on the list.:D

Face cord? never could get behind that particular unit of measure. Cord's baby, real ones - 4X4X8

We go by the face cord because we have 2 face cord racks in the garage, when we cut we fill the racks.

I have recently returned to Stihl after a negative experience with a Stihl string trimmer. That thing never ran right, even after taking it back to the dealer and an independent small engine place.

I got talked into giving Stihl another try. I've got a Farm Boss chain saw and two string trimmers. Very nice machines.

I like my 20 year old Zassenhaus pepper mill too, and of course all my knives are Wusthof.
